Transfer of authority

Sharing Knowledge about Decentralization and Local Governance in Francophone Africa

The apostle John was shown this very transfer of authority from Father to the Son from heaven’s time-altered viewpoint.  John was shown God Almighty, seated on His throne, holding a seven-sealed scroll in His hand.  Could it be that there was no one with authority to carry out His will?

“But one of the twenty-four elders said to me, “Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David’s throne, has won the victory. He is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals.” – Revelation 5:5

The person of God’s choice is fully human, from the lineage of David, but He is altogether divine, the Lamb that comes from the very centre of the throne.
