“After that the end will come, when he will turn the Kingdom over to God the Father, having destroyed every ruler and authority and power. For Christ must reign until he humbles all his enemies beneath his feet. And the last enemy to be destroyed is death.” – 1 Corinthians 15:24 – 26
The Scripture above most clearly and simply describes what this gospel of the Kingdom is. Paul outlines the stages of our Lord’s redemptive work.
God’s Kingdom must also destroy every other enemy, including sin and Satan, for death is the wages of sin and it is Satan who has the power over death. Only when death, sin and Satan are destroyed will redeemed people know the perfect blessings of God’s reign.
The gospel of the Kingdom announces Christ’s conquest over death. The final victory will be in the future when death will be finally cast into the lake of fire. Nevertheless, Christ has already defeated death.
“And now he has made all of this plain to us by the appearing of Christ Jesus, our Savior. He broke the power of death and illuminated the way to life and immortality through the Good News.” – 2 Timothy 1:10
